living room

Ever since we moved into this house our living room has been anything but livable. We barely spent anytime in there, it just wasn't inviting. As we shifted things like giant piles of trim around we were able to make it a bit more comfortable, but it was still lacking style as well as function.
Then a couple of weeks ago I made Nick go to DownEast Home with me just to look at their couches. We walked out with a new sofa and a new t.v. cabinet. That same weekend we found a rug we loved online. I was so excited. But it took me a while to list our old couch on Craigslist so our living room looked like this for about 2 weeks. lame.

Finally our new rug came and I stopped being so lazy and finally listed that blasted couch. It was gone that same night. sweet.

The next day I got busy rearranging some furniture. There are still things that need to be done, but I am so so happy with how things are coming together.

Still on the to do list:
- finish the trim
- new ottoman
- a fun and comfortable chair or two
- new pillows, I'm thinking something bright and fun
- art work, art wok, art work
- curtains

It sure is a never ending process. Good thing I'm having so much fun along the way.

I love love love it! looks way more open. I love how you rearranged everything.
Ahh, having to do lists that consist of buying decor for my home is awesome and fun! BTW, you should make some pillows of your own (just recover your old ones if they still look ok). It is REALLY easy and then your hubby won't care if you keep on changing them up because to them it cost nothing. (but buy fabric that is listed home fabric, it is thicker and cleans up nicer.
Sorry such a long damn comment.

Thanks guys! That is actually my plan to make covers for the existing pillows. I just need to find the right fabric. That is good to know to get home fabric I wouldn't have even known. Thank you my dear, keep the suggestions coming!
